New single "Where I Belong" (I Am A Mountain) by Kimie Miner

New single "Where I Belong" (I Am A Mountain) by talented Hawaiian artist Kimie Miner! The song was written by Nitanee Paris, Kimie Miner, and Chase Kauhane. In this collaboration, Paris drew creative inspiration from the Seneca-Iroquois origins of her name. The song features the beautiful chant ‘I ulu no ka lālā i ke kumu’…‘. (The branches grow because of the trunk / Without our ancestors we would not be here).
Out of the darkness
I came to be
Here where the stars
And sky meet the sea
Born out of legends
That fought to be free
Pieces of heaven
Passed down to me
So I won't give up
I’ll give my love
'Cause my heart can't be stolen
Hear the truth lifting up from the ocean
I am a mountain standing tall
Rising up where I belong
The wind and the rain
Have made me strong
I am a mountain
Where I belong
Carved in the image
Of my history
A love for this land
Is my legacy
Uncover my story
Discover the seeds
The roots and the branches
Are part of me
